Can you believe it? This is my 200th post. How crazy is that? I have found 200 moments to share and blab on about whatever it was I had on my mind. Well, thanks for reading my strange little bloggy here.
To celebrate this special event I am having a giveaway. Not the bunnies...they are for my kids Christmas (I just wanted to show you a bit of my sewing this weekend). But 2 different lots of Kaffe Fassett fabric. Oh la la.
A boy bunny and a girl bunny...how sweet. I used on of Hillary Lang's (wee wonderfuls) big footed Bunny patterns for these guys. Other than the monster I made Ethan out of an old washcloth this is my first go at sewing toys. It sure opened up a whole new world for Emma, that is for sure. She caught me sewing on the butt of the cream colored bunny and squealed "MOM!!! You can make dolls...just like the elves!" Yeah....I guess I can. Now, mind you, I got up at about 0530 to work on these guys Sunday morning because I figured the tribe would like to sleep in a bit...all the more fool me.
OK here is the loot. I have 2 different lots of Kaffe Fassett fabric up for grabs. This is a bunch of fabric. Each piece is a 2 yard cut, so you will get about 10 yards of the blue/lavenders or 10 yards of the red/oranges.....but that is not all. You will also get some quilter's dream cotton batting. This is the cream de la cream of cotton batting. See I just want you to be as addicted to fabric as I am. I love it. Westminster donated this to me last year and They just gave me some more, so I am sharing the Westminster love. If for some crazy reason you have not tried their fabric, I am sure you will after you get your hands on this (duh).
So to sum it up there will be 2 winners, Woopee. All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me (and whoever else reads the comments) what your favorite "comfort food" is. I made chicken and dumplings for dinner this evening and I used THIS recipe. I don't know what the heck Emeril is talking about by it only taking 1 hour and 45 minutes "cook time" it took me all day...but it was worth it! yummy. I woke up at about 0300 thinking about chicken and dumplings. How strange is that? Anyway...leave a comment (as many as you like) and I will draw the winner with a random selection method of some sort...probably making my husband choose a number between x & y. And we will do this in a week. On Monday the 8th of December. Oh and since this is pretty heavy...lets stick with US addresses or Australian.

CHOCOLATE! Oh...it isn't a food? Okay....but it is comforting to eat!
I love a huge pot of vegetale, barley beef or chicken soup. I get the crock pot set up and it cooks while I'm asleep and is ready in the morning. I made one for a pot luck at work this past weekend and it looked like they licked the bottom of the pot clean!
Oh my gosh Tia how beautiful is that material!!!! What a wonderful thing for you to do kiddo. My favorite comfort food, hummmmmmmmmm let's see, I guess it depends on my mood. I absolutely love love love rice a roni. Don't ask me why I just do. Chicken rice a roni is my very favorite. I could make that a meal. I would be in "Chicken" heaven!!
My favorite comfort food is chocolate! Lindt truffles, bars, hersheys bars, oreos.... I could go on and on. So many varieties so little time! This is beautiful fabric. I love the purples/blues.
Hey, look, I am number one. Kinda sad number one never wins. What a wonderfully generous thing to be giving away. Congrats on #200.
I am having a giveaway on my blog, you are welcome to come on over.
Congrats on post #200! The time flies, doesn't it!?!? And WOW! A giveaway! How exciting!
Comfort food... hmm... maybe it's the time of year making me say this, but I'm going to go with roast turkey (I did ours in a crock-pot this year!), with stuffing, gravy, cranberries, some form of sweet potatoes, and broccoli. Mmmm. And sweet potato pie. Mmmm. Yep. Or my home-made pizza. Not sure that's a comfort food. :)
Thanks, Tia!
Karen
Not that I need more fabric, but I LOVE, love, love Kaffe Fasset fabric and I do have a US address (though sadly, not an APO AE one). My favorite comfort food is a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Which reminds me, I haven't had either of those in a very long time. Happy 200th post!
Wow! What an amazing giveaway! And congrats on reaching 200!! One of my (many) comfort foods is mashed potatoes. From scratch, of course ;-)
I don't know if it's comfort food, but I LOVE prime rib, and twice baked potatoes. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!
Great prize! Congrats on 200 posts ... and on successfully making chicken & dumplings! It's one of the (many) dishes I've learned to love since moving from NYC to NC. My favorite comfort food has to be meatloaf with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes ... hmmm, or maybe beef stew on a cold winter day. Now I'm getting hungry!!
It's difficult to narrow this down to a single favorite comfort food. Can I say "carbohydrates" and leave it at that? 'Cause I love homemade bread, and potatoes in all forms, and pasta (even uncooked!), and cookies (ditto the uncooked part), and chocolate, and yeah, chicken & dumplings. In fact, today was an ultra comfort day because I made not only cookies (okay, refrigerator cookie dough which never gets baked when I make it), but homemade rolls and pressure cooker beef stew chock full of potatoes. Actually, the timer just went off - time to turn the burner off so I can take the rattly thing off...
... and later tonight it's hot chocolate from scratch just so I can use the last of the brandied whipped cream from the Thanksgiving pumpkin pie.
ooo! i can't resist a giveaway! LOL
fave comfort food:
Chicken Adobo over rice
(I get hungry thinking of it).
Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Love your blog, Love giveways, and LOVE Lasagna.. Yum.. I have some cooking now... ~SewDaisy
I grew up eating all sorts of comfort food, no healthy stuff for me. I hate to have to choose but probably a nice tender pot roast with carrots, potatoes, celery and onions with lots of gravy. And to chase that warm gooey brownies. Excuse me while I go raid the refigerator.
Love the fabrics, thanks for the chance to win some.

First off, I LOVE your bags! So clever, so pretty, so fun! Unfortunately for me my husband is not in the military...but if he was, I'd be ALL over those bags!
Now, my favorite comfort food would have to be...umm...well...all I can think of is homemade mac and cheese (none of that yucky boxed junk). No one else in the house likes it but me, so I never make it. Can't bring myself to eat the whole pan by myself!

Has anyone ever had a Buttermilk pie? Oh my gosh, if you haven't you are really missing out. It does not taste like buttermilk but you do use it in the receipe. It is wonderful. I always have to make at least 2 or 3 for the holidays. I think I could sit down and eat the whole thing. It's a good thing my hubby took one of them to work with him.
Wow! 200 posts-- congratulations! Those bunnies are so cute.
I think my favorite comfort food is roasted butternut squash and bacon pasta from Cooking Light. So good. Mmmm.
congrats on your 200th post. My favorite comfort food is my mom's 4 cheese macaroni and cheese. No matter how many times I make it I can't get it like hers. I think she is leaving an ingredient out of her recipe she gave me. :) Love the Kafee fabric. Please enter me in the drawing.
Ohhhhhhh, fingers crossed I win this one! I'm just down the road so postage wouldn't be that much! LOL Favourite comfort food? Husbands home made chicken curry with fresh corn and fluffy jasmine rice! I'm having left overs tonight of it, always tastes a bit better the second day. :) Congrats on your 200th post, your bags are lovely and what you do is just inspirational!
As Rachel Ray would say .... YUMM-O! I love my mama's chicken n dumplins! However, now that I'm married and can't just have her CND whenever I want ... I am opting for my hubby's grilled cheese and homemade chicken noodle soup. He makes hands down THE BEST grilled cheese!!! Ummmm, just thinking about it now makes me want to go and grab the xbox controller out of his hand and put his butt in the kitchen! HAHA!! What a great idea Tia .... I've enjoyed reading all the entries!
Hi Tia...
I'm very new to blogging but I do enjoy reading comments. What a lovely & generous gift you've planned for someone. Congrats on your 200th. Many of my favorites have been listed. However I have to say there is one that is truly irrestible, my Mom's rhubarb pie from scratch!! She had the touch, it is simply the best. I'm trying to carry on her expertise and remember her instructions. Whenever I bake and the house fills with those mouth-watering aromas, that too, by itself is like a comfort food. It fills up my senses, brings back memories and contentment and I just love it! I owe it all to her for teaching me. Think I'll have to make one now, my mouth is watering at the thought. Thank you for this opportunity. God bless. Cheryl
Depends: If I am needing sweet comfort it's nice warm gooie chocolate chip cookies with a glass of ice cold milk. If I am not in the mood for sweet (I know, shocking but it happens) then it's Fat Dip - pound of sausage cooked and crumbled, can of Rotels, block of cream cheese, tub of cream cheese with onion and chives. Melt together and eat with chips. Yummy!!!!
Oh, comfort food! What a great choice for this season! hehe.
I think the big one in our household is "spaghetti & Cheese". It's something that my great grandmother used to make every Saturday for lunch, and we'd go over there to eat. We've all made it through the generations since, and I even let my husband in on how to make it (not that it's hard, lol) It's just baked spaghetti ( I use angel hair) and milk, with sliced sharp cheddar cheese on top. Bake it in the oven til the cheese is nice and crispy and ooooh, it's good. I put pepper on it and some garlic and then my husband loads it up with all kinds of other things once it's done and on his plate! It's a GREAT comfort food. Who doesn't love carbs....and CHEESE! hehe
Hope your hand is feeling better. I'm a bit behind commenting here, but this week has been nuts!!!!
my favorite comfort food is Pho... it's a Vietnamese rice noodle soup
