Great Days begin Early.

When I say Early I mean about 0300. Do you ever wake up in the wee hours of the morning and start thinking of all the things you COULD be doing besides sleeping in your nice warm bed? Well, that was me this morning. After I woke up I just couldn't go back to sleep. My mind was racing about all the other things that need to get done in just a couple weeks. I just said to heck with it and I got up and made coffee, did some laundry, and started sewing. I made great progress on some bags and then the rest of the family woke up and that was that. But those couple hours all to myself were very nice.

Do you know what else was nice? The mail I got today. Does everyone LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the "Stitch" Magazine from the same folks who make "Quilting Arts"? I got the first one and it is all tattered from all the times I flipped through it. This second issue looks just as awesome, if not more so! It has the wonderful charm of some of the Japanese sewing magazines, but duh...it is in English. I can get by with German and Spanish, but Japanese is hopeless for me.

I ordered it from Pink Chalk Studio. Kathy Mack is always so darn quick. I also had to get some of the tape measure fabric and more of the MOMO. The twill is just so awesome to work with. The bag I was working on this morning has a bunch in it and it looks amazing (if I do say so myself) I will show you pictures later. I also need to finish up a Cathy bag so I can do some mailing. Maybe I will get up early again tomorrow. Who knows what will happen?

These buttons are to Die for. These are smaller than the last bunch I bought because I am going to replace the buttons on my favorite sweater. The sweater is ugly brown, but is so soft and wonderful, I think it deserves an update. I think these buttons are also so inspirational for me. I wrote the man who makes them in SA to see if I can buy a bunch wholesale before I move back the the US, I hope I can. I would love to make a series of Australian bags....out of swag scraps and canvas with these stunning buttons. They are in my mind, I just need to find the time to get a couple out into reality so you can see what I am talking about. My Aunt Laura will be getting my first one.

Here are my 8to8 quilt blocks all out in the sunshine. Aren't they looking awesome? I guess I need to make my two for the project. Once again...I just need a bit of time.
I am also keeping my fingers tightly crossed that the rolls of batting will be here in time for the Quiltathon Saturday. Keep that in your prayers too, so we can wrap this wonderful Bush Fire Quilt project up. I can't wait to send all the quilts on to their new homes.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
XO,
Tia
