Back in the Swing Monday!

Good Morning! I hope you are all doing delightfully well. We are good out here in Texas. My craft fair on Saturday went ok. Not Awesome as I had planned in my fantasy, but it did go fairly well. But that may be good news for you guys since now I will be listing all the leftover treasures in the shop....and treasures they are, let me assure you! There are few things in my little crafty life that are more fulfilling to my soul than having my handmade items fondled and loved on. It makes me so happy. Of course in all honesty, I would have preferred them to all have been sold, right? Ahlora. What can you do? I suppose my price-line was too high for these parts. Maybe it is the recession? I tried to account for the fact that I had a professional artist hand paint many of the items, all my things were handmade and hand stitched by me.....

People would all crowd in and look and touch and love them, and then when I said that I had made everything....the level of appreciation would soar. No one complained that stuff was too expensive and not worth what I was charging, I am quite good at what I do afterall. But it was more of something they wanted to buy for themselves and they were out looking for gifts for others.

I finished stitching on the binding of this pillow the morning before the market opened. I am so completely in love with it. I looked at all sorts of cowboy boots for inspiration for the type of quilting I should do to the side of the boot, but in the end decided to just do my very favorite wild vines. On the boarder around the pillow, Sharon wrote "The stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas". I pieced some liberated stars in the corners....it is such a great pillow. I did give it to Sharon to do with as she pleases, but this one was the favorite one I made for the show.

So...I am back in the sewing room but I am working on nothing but bags for my wonderful ladies. I am quite behind and you will all get a special treat in your box when I mail out your orders. Please feel free to remind me of which of you have Christmas presents in your orders so I will make certain to have them out in plenty of time. I do believe that I have heard from most of you...but I just want to make sure.

Have the best week ever. We are planning our Thanksgiving ( which is one of my top 3 favorite holidays of the year. ) my husband and I take turns making the turkey, not because we hate doing it, but because we love it so much and we want to be totally in charge of it. Isn't that crazy? Do any of you have cook offs with your mates? We do love to eat.

OK, I have work to do...be well and be clever.

Tia

Simon prepared and cooked christmas dinner for the first time last year, and I think he finally understand and appreciates all that goes into it, but he is doing it again this year, I am more than happy to put my feet up and enjoy the day! Loving your Texas pillow, sorry the fair wasn't all that you hoped, I bet the left overs will fly out of your shop xxx
