Here is my submission for Doll Quilt Swap #6. I quite love it and like most things I make I do not want to part with it. I hope I am not the only crafter who feels this way. I love the slight shimmer of the shot cottons and the strip cutting and sewing was so very fun. I made too many blocks so I am making a pillow for my sister to send off with her son's Christmas/Birthday quilt. Yep...I am behind in that endeavor.
While we are planning our move back to reality We are looking at cars (well vans more specifically). We have a VW Passatt Wagon in the US, and were looking to trade it in on something a bit bigger since the kids have grown. I am a VW lady through and through. I LOVE a Volkswagen. And look at this??? They have a mini van now! Woopee!! My parents and my mother-in-law went and test drove it over the weekend. But my dad was having trouble with his hearing aides in the van....which would not be cool for Emma and her hearing aides. I love looking at cars, I look foreword to doing it when we get back to the States. I don't think we need this much fancy new vehicle, but I do want something bigger than the passatt.
OK, I am off to sew. Oh and if I have not said it yet we are moving to Ft Leavenworth, Kansas in July. Not too much time left here, but we sure have loved living here.
xo,
Tia

Hi, welcome to the neighborhood. I'm in Kansas City MO, not too far from Leavenworth KS. I will tell you there is a very nice quilt shop there - Quilters Quarters - and a quilt guild - I've given a class there.
Thanks for all the work you are doing with the bushfire quilts.

we are looking at minivan's too.. Not just for the kids but for the grandparents, as we all get older, it seems safer to all be in the same car.
Honda Odyssey! I love mine and some good friends of mine have one and he wears hearing aides and I haven't heard of any complaints with them.
I wrote this on another blog to someone who was moving away from where they were at. (Don't remember.) The idea I had was to take lots of pictures for the kids to remember their time in Australia. Specifically go on special outings for them, like a picnic in the park or something. Part of the idea was to make little albums for the kids, of their schools, their friends, things they loved. That way if come October or next year or something they'd have something to look at and not be so sad with missing.
I'm bummed I won't be here when you come. We're headed to Bragg at the end of June. Make sure you get to Sarah's in Lawrence; definitely worth the 40 minute drive. And there's a great yarn shop across the street.
VW's are great! I love my Cadillac for sure too though...I would love an Escalade! :)
