Shade Garden quilt

Good Morning Everyone,

I think Fall is here for good. Outside my window most of the leaves have begun to change a bit of color, and there is a definite bite to the air. I cut my early morning walk short today because the mist was more like shards of ice against my face and I was not dressed warmly enough. I tried to jog to warm myself up, but I have lost enough weight that my pants are loose, so I was in danger of loosing my britches. No one seemed to be out, but with my luck I would have lost my pants right as a Battalion of MPs ran by. So I hustled back to warmth of my tree house home.

I have been busy this week. I finished and shipped out the Shade Garden Quilt for Michelle Becsko Engle. Hopefully it is safely at Quilt Market in Houston (It was supposed to be delivered yesterday before noon). This is the second quilt I have made for Michelle and I just adore sewing for her. We are going to have a surprise for you when she returns from Quilt Market, but more on that later. So if you are lucky enough to go to Quilt Market stop by her booth #1248 and say "Hi". I am not sure if this quilt will be at her booth or at the Henry Glass one.

I think it turned out great. It is a pattern designed by Michelle, and all the fabrics are from her Shade Garden line with the exception of the white. The white is my favorite Moda 200 TC Muslin. It has such a nice silky weight and makes the greatest "swoosh" sound. It is my muslin of choice to back and piece with. I really loved the binding....I went back and free hand quilted some loops and swirls all around the quilt. The pattern is echoed in 2 of the prints (it is a snail trail).
Have a great day!
Tia

Goodness, that is a lovely quilt. Beautiful fabrics. Weight loss? What's your secret?

Thanks ladies! Michelle is awesome to sew for, so that sure makes it all easy. As far as the weight loss goes, I get up at about 0530 and go for a quick walk between 1-2miles. I mix it up and jog part, but mostly just walk fast. Oh and I am taking Lisinipril for my high BP. I drink lots of water (never sodas...yuck) enjoy my wine in the evening, eat healthy. Too easy, right? I put on a bunch of weight in Australia, I am not really sure why, but I did. It is good to see it go!
