Time to hit the road!

Our year in Kansas has come to an end. Stu is over at the house now clearing quarters (an inspector is going through our house to make sure I cleaned it well). Fort Leavenworth has been fabulous. We have really loved this year in our old home, we got to enjoy a very dramatic 4 complete seasons of weather. A great school and gorgeous countryside. But most of all we have met some more great friends. Thank you for being who you are and may God bless you in your travels.
As the packers and movers were moving out all my fabric, I wondered to myself.... "I sure have a ton of sewing stuff, I wonder what our house would look like without so much fabric and pins lying around". Last night after the truck pulled out household goods away I gathered up a nice little stack of scrap fabric that had been hiding under furniture and under air conditioners and I will be challenging myself to make something with it. The cats are pretty much completely bewildered. This will be my first move with cats. They will be with me in the van. The kids are doing great and have their little bags of road trip books and crayons to keep them busy.
So, as the song goes "The Army Keeps Rolling along!" so goes my little life. We are driving down to San Angelo, Texas. Good Fellow Air Force Base, here we come!

Isn't it a great feeling when all is safely packed? I hope you have a great trip over, can enjoy the sights on the way and arrive safely! See you from there!

I am going to MISS you at the guild meetings! Kansas City is somewhat selfish, and wants to keep you for its own... I am sure you will have a great time down in Texas, but I sure hate to see you go. (Sob.)

The internet really makes the world a small place! I found you when you were doing your bushfire quilts and have followed you since then. What I find funny is that I met my husband at Goodfellow when we were both going through Intel school there 9 years ago! I loved San Angelo, I hope you guys do as well:)

Thanks so much ladies! So far the trip is going quite well. The Flint Hills were really pretty - I took some pictures from the van. The cats and kids are doing great too.

Thanks Jen for letting me know that you liked San Angelo. It seems hard to find out much about the town, but everyone who has been there really likes it. I am sure I will too. I am pretty easy to please. The Army is a small world and the Internet makes it even samller, huh?
