What have you been up to?

So, have you all been enjoying your summer? I sure hope so. We have. I quilt early in the morning and then spend the rest of the day at the pool and in the kitchen cooking dinner.

This is my wonderful Spiderweb quilt. I LOVE it. It is full of my very favorite fabrics. I really tried to stick to a color family of sorts...but it veered off course a bit. I still dig it though. I will go on and on about it when it is finished, but consider this a sneak peek.

Here is Sam and his swimming lessons. I do some hand quilting and the other two kids read or draw while Sam swims.

Ethan has been spending entirely too much time in the water.

I have been baking up a storm. This is a whole wheat loaf. It is odd. I detest whole wheat bread that you can buy at the store, but home made is fantastico.

And I have been making my own pasta sauce.
  • -bacon
  • - onion
  • -garlic
  • - big can of whole tomatoes
  • simmer for a while and yummo! I added some little mushrooms too because we all like them.

And we are LOVING the produce bounty that HEB has to offer. Who knew moving south would produce such a land side of wonderful fruit and veg!
Do you ever go shopping in the morning and find that by evening ALL the fruit you bought (hoping it would last the rest of the week) is gone. Nothing left but a couple cherry stems.
At any rate it is better for them than Cokes and candies, right?
I am going to bed. Have a great evening. Hopefully I will have my spiderweb quilt all bound tomorrow! It is so wonderful....I want it on my bed tonight. Oh if you look in between the blocks you may notice that I quilted actual spiderwebs! Ahhh!!!! I will go on about that tomorrow.
xo,
Tia

i love HEB! i actually miss HEB, their produce was fantastic, making up for the fact that there was a lack of farmer's markets at fort hood.

and i agree, the kids are eating me out of house an home, along with the produce the milk is disappearing by the gallons!

happy summer!

I LOVE the white background on your spider web quilt. And your son is as good a sport as mine has been for 18 years.
