Summer...

Mindless piecing. I started this one back in Kansas. It was meant to be some blocks for hand piecing, but this is so much more quick and efficient. The colored squares are mostly gorgeous hand dyes from Cherrywood fabric. I have had the fabric laying around for a couple years, so I decided it was time to use it. Too pretty to be gathering dust.

When I am happy I bake. I have been spending a great deal of time in the kitchen this summer. I made this wonderful ("Best ever strawberry tallcake in the world" according to my son.) with the recipe from Martha Stewart living. I didn't add the jelly, I figured I didn't want it quite that sweet. Well, it was AWESOME. Go make one. Get fat with me.

This is what our mornings are like. We would stay all day, but Stanley McCrystal tends to have separation anxiety, and he is still a puppy, so we need to get home before too much is chewed. If ya know what I mean? But while we are here it is so nice. I love this pool. Great lifeguards, clean water, enough shade so I don't toast too badly.

This is what I do by the poolside. I stitch on bindings....do some handwork or just read. Gosh it is a great summer.

Sam has learned to swim. He is such a funny little fish boy.
I registered the kiddos yesterday at school. I guess there is an end to this wonderful summer. But I have some uniforms arriving, and have started work on some bags and have been fiddling with a new bag design or two. I guess we are settled. Now....if the laundry would just do itself.
xo,
Tia
