On dining alone...

So, here is a funny little story. I meant to try and link it in with the Gwen Marston workshop post, but I was distracted.

As a 35 year old wife and mother to 3 kids I almost never dine by myself at a restaurant. The is always a child, husband or friend to go out with. Well, I was so proud of myself for driving through Dallas during rush hour and only getting turned around once that I decided a glass of wine and a nice pasta was in order. Lucky me! There was a lovely little Italian spot near the preforming arts center where the Dallas quilt guild was having their monthly meeting and where Gwen was speaking.

Well, I went in and it was pretty empty, so I selected my seat near a window so I could watch the city do it's thing. The young waiter came to the table to get my drink order, and then he wanted to know how my day was and then he wanted to know what I was reading (I had a book in my bag) and he asked a couple other questions and I was beginning to get somewhat irritated. I was kinda looking forward to my quiet dinner all to myself. Well, he finally left the table and did whatever it was he went off to do. I noticed a funny breeze on my chest and looked down to see that my shirt was unbuttoned to my waist. Dammit. Oh well, I guess that young fella liked what he saw. Maybe it was his first peek at a bosom. Not that it is that impressive, but it is the best I have to offer.

The button holes are too big for the buttons, so it comes undone easily. I don't normally prance around with my mammary glands on display.

**** Just in case you are curious, as soon as I saw my blouse was wide open I quickly buttoned it back up and tried to pretend that it was always buttoned up, very prim and proper. I have never had such quick drink service, though, and the glass of wine was probably the equivalant of half a bottle. Sadly there was no way I could consume all of it and then go to the quilt guild without acting like a total lush.

Oh my gosh!! I have a shirt that does that too. I'll be sure never to wear it out in public again! Ha HA! I hope you enjoyed your stolen quiet moment to yourself anyway!

*giggle*snort* You poor dear!I would have been mortified I tell you. I don't wear button up's too often as my bosom is too buxom and it tends to strain buttons. I'd probably put the poor waiter's eye out popping a button.

OMG! Too funny, I almost spat coffee on my monitor I laughed so hard. It's stuff like this that really tickles my funny bone. I did a full woowoo flash at the farmer quite by accident once, but that's a story for another day....
