Yesterday was the Camel Cup here in Alice Springs, Australia. My mate was a Camel Jockey/handler for the day. There he is riding one of the camels. It was a pretty fun day, lots of people and the sun was nice too. The kids all got to race in the kids camel cup (they rode hobby horses with camel heads). Lots of fun, if you are ever in town this time of year you should stop by.
Ok I get asked for my salsa recipe all the time. As a matter of fact the only reason I am invited to some parties is because I might bring my salsa. Now I don't know if it is really any good, or if we are all just starved for Tex-Mex so it tastes good. But I like it, so here you go....try it out.
My wonderful friend, Kerri, first gave me the recipe back on Bailey Street. Our husbands were both deployed and we (about 5 moms and all our kiddos) would hang out in her yard while the kids played and we gossiped. I think that was my "best" deployment as far as deployments go. I had such great friends and we were all in the same sucky boat.
Kerri's Salsa
-----------------------
1 large can of whole peeled tomatoes (drained)
1 onion
couple cloves of garlic
entire bunch of cilantro
jalapenos (or fresh peppers to taste, scotch bonnet, habinero...whatever you want)
salt (I put a bunch of Salt into mine)
juice from 1 lime
put everything into a blender and blend it all up. Bamm you have salsa!

Now I'm hungry LOL.
Tia,
I just discovered your blog via flicker, and I have spent the last two hours reading it; it's wonderful!
Your "gift" to military families is phenomenal, and your talent is endless. You are an inspiration to me. I would love to approach sewing/quilting as you do,,,with joy and gusto! Kudos to you! JB
What adventures your family has! You must tell us more about your seeing the world trip that is coming up. I thought maybe I didn't read too carefully and I glanced over it, but I need to know what you and your adventurous bunch is up to!
